Travelling

Alcohol and tobacco quotas You may bring a duty free alcohol and tobacco quota when you have been abroad.

Travelling with expensive items When travelling from and returning to Norway with an expensive item, it is advantageous to be able to document that the item was in your possession when you left Norway. This may by documented with an identification certificate.

Currency If you are bringing currency with a value corresponding to more than NOK 25,000 to or from Norway, you must notify Norwegian Customs. If you fail to notify, you will be fined 20 per cent of the entire amount or reported to the police.

Travelling with medicines When travelling to Norway, you may bring medicines for personal use. There are limits to the amounts you can bring to Norway

Travelling with pets If you are travelling with pets to or from Norway, you should contact the Norwegian Food Safety Authority prior to the trip in order to establish which rules apply.
